Are your teams stuck in a rut?
Is your team struggling to adapt to change?
Do you work with stakeholders who are sometimes challenging to work with?
Do you see repeat patterns in your relationships with people at work?
Do you sometimes find it hard to build rapport with certain people or on specific projects?
Do you feel that you have hit a glass ceiling and are finding it tough to break throgugh to the next level?
If you are asking any of these questions then NLP coaching and mentoring can be an effective tool to assist you in breaking through and assisting you in gaining real tangile progress and results. NLP is about working with you and not 'at' you, nor is it telling you what and how you should do something but helping you find the right process and steps to achieveing your goals.
What is NLP?
Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in California, United States in the 1970s. Its creators claim a connection between the neurological processes ("neuro"), language ("linguistic") and behavioral patterns learned through experience ("programming") and that these can be changed to achieve specific goals in life.
NLP methodology can "model" the skills of exceptional people, then those skills can be acquired by anyone. This can be applied in any and all aspects of your life, career and personal relationships. I work with my clients by utilizing the NLP tools and skills to remodel and adapt less positive situations in the business environment in to positively reframed and successful outcomes.
I work on the below principles:
a. Outcome orientation with respect for others’ models of the world and the ecology of the system.
b. Distinction between map and territory.
c. There is only feedback -not failure.
d. The Meaning of your communication is the response you get.
e. Adaptive intent of all behavior.
f. Everyone has the necessary resources to succeed.
g. Resistance is a signal of insufficient pacing.
h. Law of requisite variety.
I can create real impact through understanding of all aspects of the client environment, teams and objectives.
To achieve this I work with clients and their teams to identify the challenges that digital transformation imposes on businesses and their cultures in 121 and workshop sessions. I gather a big picture view of the environment, processes, ecology of the environment and team dynamics, as well as working with indiviuals to identify where their pain points, frustrations or more general habits are interacting amidst that environment. As you dive deeper and peel back the layers the techniques in NLP aid in providing a framework and engaging zone to create flexibility and creativity.
As more and more organizations move to adapt and evolve into this realm, it is becoming extremely clear why so many are now beginning to embrace the benefits that can be offered, whilst already experiencing a pressure to deliver ’today’ with new innovation and fast pasted delivery mechanisms.
How does this apply in business?
Change in organizations is no longer an occasional occurrence, but rather a continuous and constant and often organic state and this can throw up many interesting challenges along the way across a multitude of areas; team, organisation, governance, delivery pressures, lack of understanding and C+ level buyin, to name just a handful.
By collaborating with these teams, I can then help establish better working practices, career growth, hone process, and coach individual team members on numerous delivery aspects. I provide a tailored approach to each and every project so that it fits directly with the environment and culture of the business I’m working with.
How is my experience relevant?
With my diverse hybrid experience in digital delivery, relationship management, leading large change and digital multi channel programmes I can enable and create a positive impact on all areas of business and work to support your teams to establish streamlined working practices, hone out issues or niggles between delivery teams.
How does this apply in 121 sessions and personnal sessions?
I have a methodology that I have honed over a number of years that guides and helps focus anyone Im working with on really gaining clarity and insight in to who they are and what really drives them.
Most of us wonder why we are here, what our purpose is and how we can feel more fulfilled on a daily basis, not relinquishing ourselves to the constant grind of 9-5 and being stuck in the Robert Kiowsaki quadrant of 'employee'. (tip: read Rich dad Poor Dad!) Most of us want to wake up in the morning feeling excited and inspired and full of energy. If we can gain this by achieving our goals, targets and felling more fulfilled and integral to our own drivers and desires then I see that as a measure of success. Life is about gaining balance and control and feeling that we are moving along a path that makes sense to us and fits with our moral and life compass. When we are off that path, often all we need is the nudge back in the right direction. like when we use our satnav's, there are any number of paths to achieve a specific task, goal or achievement and often none is better or worse than another, but knowing that you are on a path in a direction to that goal is key.
Life is not always about the destination, its more about teh journey we take to get there, but having a clear idea of that purpose or goal enables the journey to be that much more exciting.
